Durham Light Infantry L/Cpl. Shaw reporting,
Christmas Eve a German attack was made. But after being repelled the front went into quiet Christmas celebrations. That is until a set of Germans came singing a song that sounded a lot like "O'Christmas tree." Sneaking over the top a few British celebrated the true meaning of Christmas and good will among men. Sharing rum, schnapps, mincetarts, bratwursts, and chocolate around a camp fire singing and jesting.
